The company was acquired by P&O and later teamed with V-Ships and the Mariotti shipyard in Genoa to convert the incomplete hull of a Soviet reseach vessel into the luxurious small cruise ship Minerva. Minerva II
Minerva II is an elegant ship specialising in lecture rich cruises to interesting destinations and features superb décor in the grand public rooms reminiscent of classic liner days. Over sixty percent of the rooms have outside balconies. Minerva II passengers tend to be culture seeking 30-60+ and mainly British. When all cabins have double occupancy, the ship provides a space ratio of 42.3 tons per passenger and a crew to passenger ratio of one for every 1.9 passengers. At full capacity the space ratio is 36.7 tons per passenger and the crew ratio is one to 2.2 passengers.

Cabins
Cabins are not large but well equipped with good storage space and TV, radio , hairdryer, sitting area, telephone and safe. Bathrooms are also compact but nicely fitted. Suites offer double wardrobes, dining area and large balconies.

Restaurants
There are three formal dining rooms with good service and food - The Club is open seating while the Swan and The Grill are reservations only. Buffet style dining is provided in the Bridge Cafe with indoor and outdoor seating .

Important Booking Information

* Quotes will be given in AUD, however the price is only guaranteed when a booking is made (option held). Pricing can change daily (sometimes more than once a day) - therefore no prices "quoted" will be guaranteed unless a booking is actually made. All rates include gratuities and NCF's - which are also commissionable.
* The brochure features prices in GBP with a "Full Brochure" price and an "Early Booking" price. The actual fare confirmed when booking can be anywhere in between these 2 rates and the AUD amount will be based on the exchange rate of the day. As pricing fluctuates daily, we will not publish any AUD pricing on our website or in any product releases.
* Bookings are guaranteed at the AUD rate confirmed at time of booking. Rates will not be recosted if the exchange rate changes.
* All bookings made will receive a maximum of 3 days for an option for deposit. No extensions will be granted under any circumstances. Bookings made 70 days or less prior to departure will be given 24 hours for full payment at the most.
* Some of the itineraries in the brochure include charter flights from the UK to the port of embarkation - or from the port of disembarkation back to the UK (the brochure is specifically designed for the UK market). Please specify if you would like the charter flight booked when requesting a booking with our reservations staff. Otherwise we will assume you are flying directly into the port of embarkation (or home from the port of disembarkation)
* Cancellation fees are outlined in the brochure. Because the foreign currency (GBP) is forward bought at the time the booking is actually confirmed (to pay the final balance), all cancellation fees will also include any loss occurred from the foreign exchange in addition to what is outlined in the brochure. Please ensuere your clients are aware of this.

* Qantas Frequent Flyer points are awarded on these cruises (1 point for every $1.50 spent)
